You may request reinstatement of your license back to an active status at any time. There are different requirements depending on the length of time your license has been inactive. You will find these requirements listed below. Click this link to obtain a reinstatement application.

You must know the meaning of the term current professional proficiency in order to understand the reinstatement requirements. The term is defined under OAR 806-010-0060(3). Basically, it means that you do one of the following:

  1. Submit evidence you have complied with the aggregate CPE requirements for Oregon during the time your Oregon license was inactive. For example, if you were inactive for two years, you must provide evidence of completing two years worth of CPE (24 hours total).
  2. You may meet the requirements of a new or reciprocal licensee, as outlined under OAR 806-010-0020 and OAR 80-010-0035.

Inactive or Architect Emeritus Status (less than five years):

Reinstatement fee of $400, and submit evidence you have complied with the aggregate CPE requirements for Oregon during the time your Oregon license was inactive. For example, if you were inactive for two years, you must provide evidence of completing two years worth of CPE (24 hours total).

Inactive or Architect Emeritus Status (over five years):

  1. Evidence of meeting the seismic requirements;
  2. Passing the jurisprudence examination and oral interview, and
  3. Total fees of $475 ($400 reinstatement fee and $75 registration fee),

and one of the following:

  1. Submit evidence you have complied with the aggregate CPE requirements for Oregon during the time your Oregon license was inactive. For example, if you were inactive for two years, you must provide evidence of completing two years worth of CPE (24 hours total). OR,
  2. You may meet the requirements of a new or reciprocal licensee, as outlined under OAR 806-010-0020 and OAR 80-010-0035.
